报告人简介:
Professor Nigel Willby is based at the University of Stirling in Scotland UK (near Edinburgh) where he was worked for 20 years. He researches on aquatic plants, ecosystem restoration, plant-animal interactions and bio-indication approaches for freshwaters. Currently he is leading a £3m project into the importance of connectivity in freshwater ecosystems. He got his PhD from the University of Liverpool in 1994 and then worked as a postdoc in Glasgow. This is his third visit to Wuhan.

Dr Zarah Pattison is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Stirling, Scotland. Zarah is a community ecologist, focusing on plant community responses to alien plant invasions. Her work has focused on understanding how environmental drivers promote the spread and abundance of invasive alien plants along rivers and their impact on native vegetation. Previous postdoctoral work has involved quantifying the abundance of pathogenic bacteria in lakes and rivers, through field measurements and structural equation modelling of direct and indirect drivers. Current research is focused on understanding factors which promote global alien plant hotspots in aquatic habitats and how this may impact water and food security in the future.
